Commitment: Quarterly Board meetings, AGM, Board Strategy / Development Day + ad hoc communication and meetings with the CE or committees as required

Salary: £3K pa plus expenses

About the Role

Accelerate CIC is evolving, and has bold but achievable plans for expansion and development. In order to meet these goals, whilst upholding our values and uncompromisingly high standards of patient care, we need to appoint three new Non-Executive Directors to bring additional analytical, governance, commercial and business experience to the Board.

The role of the Board is to help guide and govern our organisation as it develops. We want to widen our talent pool as much as possible, and it is hoped that you will also bring an element of management, legal, financial, governance and/or human resource experience to the table.  You will play an important part in shaping strategy and processes, helping to develop a sustainable and creative business for the benefit of patients, employees and members of Accelerate.

About You

We seek impressive individuals with natural stature, self-motivation and a range of business and interpersonal skills. You’ll have stand-out communication skills at all levels, be experienced in leading teams and maintaining corporate governance, and be a motivating influencer with the proven ability to inspire and translate strategy into actionable plans. You’ll be adept at managing tensions and supporting teams in reaching consensus, and will have the political acumen and skills to develop productive working relationships. You need a good understanding of corporate and clinical governance, demonstrable success in developing a business, and must share our passion, commitment and values for providing exceptional patient care.

People and community focus should be at the heart of your approach. Ideally you’ll have experience working in the NHS or healthcare or similar customer related organisations, and an in-depth understanding of the challenges this sector faces.
